Upper Receiver: The Ares Armor upper
receiver is made from 7075 aluminum and is made from a mil spec forging.
Our upper is superior to other uppers on the market because it is
light weight and is made to mil spec standards or durability ruggedness
Charging Handle: Extended Latch charging handle is made from forged 7075 aircraft grade aluminum and is made to mil spec standards yet it has the Ares Extended latch which is neither too big nor too small.
Gas Block: is a low profile gas block made from hardened steel and has an inner diameter of .750.Gas Tube: Is a carbine Stainless steel gas tube.
Hand Guard:
The Harpe hand guard is a 13 inch free float hand guard which has
superior strength while remaining light weight. Comes with attachable
rails sections.
Additionally, The Harpe has the Ares Armor proprietary barrel nut and
attachment system which allows for ease of use and maintenance. The
Harpe is streamlined and aesthetically marvelous.
Black Nitride: This finishing process is a surface conversion process in place of industrial hard chrome and is therefore inherently free from nodules, flaking, pits, stripping, or anode burrs. The process results in chemical and structural composition changes that can be described as a case hardening to a depth of 0.005 of the alloy leading to increased surface hardness, lower coefficient of friction, enhanced surface lubricity, improved running wear performance, increased sliding wear resistance, enhanced corrosion resistance and heat resistance over industrial hard chrome. The process is a surface conversion and does not add material to the internal dimension of the bore. With hard chrome, the bore must be manufactured oversized or honed and electro-polished to make the interior dimension oversized making room for the chrome plating. This plating is inconsistent which is the reason sniper or target barrels are typically not chromed. It has proven superior as a surface finish to phosphate with oxidization when subjected to MIL-STD-810f salt fog/spray testing and is a scratch resistant flat black finish.
The MKII Compensator features 8 columns and 3 rows of exit ports that can be either opened or closed through the very simple use of set screws.
The exit ports are not threaded completely through to eliminate the possibility of the screw being over turned into the chamber. This feature also allows the screw to "bottom out" increasing tightness and ensuring that it will not work itself out under the pressure of the gasses being released by the weapon.
The Ares Armor Effin-A Compensator MKII weighs in at only 2.5 ozs; which is half the weight of the previous version.
Allen Key is included.
