80% Polymer Lower

I purchased this as an experimental test so that I could practice before starting an aluminum lower. I intended to use a mill, but after watching a video on the internet, I decided to try using nothing but a dremel tool. Used a cone shaped router bit to make most of the white plastic go away, and finished with a small ball end bit and drum sander bit. 2 hours and 2 bottles of beer later, and the center section was hogged out. Probably more time than needed, but I did not want to rush it. I can always take of more, but it is hard to put the material back. I used the Ares jig and a drill press for the hammer and trigger pin holes. I skipped the safety selector, not sure if I need it. Today I tapped the pistol grip screw hole (I used 1/4"-20 for plastic rather than the usual 1/4"-28: not sure if this is right, but I wanted a deeper bite into the plastic). A hammer and trigger assembly work fine, but I may need to shave the inside a bit to reduce friction in the trigger. So far, so good. If my Magpul stock ever arrives from Aim Surplus from backorder, the build will be complete.
Lots of fun, and easy even for this all thumbs engineer who is best kept far away from tools.
