Lynne Russell - Crime pays. Gun Saves.

Who says “crime doesn’t pay”? In committing his final crime, Tomorio Walton paid for it with his life. Meantime, former CNN Headline News anchor and correspondent, Lynne Russell, and her husband saved their lives because she legally carried a gun in her purse.

You might have heard the story recently. If you did, you had to be tuned in to select news outlets. That’s because it seems like the headlines make room for every cry for more gun control. However, positive gun news stories such as what happened in this case don’t always spread like wildfire.

For those who will listen, Lynne Russell just told her story on Fox News. She titled it: “The Second Amendment Saved My Life.”

She shared details of crashing for the night in a Motel 6 in Albuquerque, New Mexico on a long road trip with her husband, Chuck de Caro. He’s a former CNN reporter, and U.S. Army Special Forces veteran.

While Chuck was in the shower, Lynne went to the car to bring in food, and was returning to the motel room. Suddenly, she was assaulted by a man with what she said was a big, silver, semi-automatic weapon. The man shoved into the room and on the bed.

Then came the gunman’s surprise. Lynne Russell was not alone.

Buck naked, Chuck de Caro came out of the bathroom. Husband and wife instantly worked together. They began distracting the armed robber by talking to him, moving around, and offering things to him. They sensed he was comfortable having committed this crime before.

Lynne walked her purse over to Chuck. A trusty .380 gun was inside. The thug lunged for a brief case, and moved toward the door. Then, instead of running, he opened fire on Chuck, who bravely emptied his gun in returning fire.

Lynne Russell said the bottom line was the bad guy was in the parking lot DOA. Her husband and hero who she married one year ago on Independence Day is now recovering from five gunshot wounds. She so eloquently wrote:

“Now ask me how I feel about the right to bear Arms.”

Lynne Russell added some key points in strong defense of the Second Amendment:

  • If America didn’t already have #2A – the Second Amendment, we would create it.
  • Don’t make the argument about criminals. They will always get their hands on guns.
  • Prevent “violent” offenders from owning firearms, but allow “white collar” criminals.
  • And finally, she saved the best for last. “Get a gun. Get legal. Be responsible. Trust yourself. Don’t trust yourself? Then don’t carry. But for God’s sake then, shut the f**k up about it, because that’s where your involvement ends.”

Father’s Day 2015 Call to Arms

From Bryce Stirlen, CEO, Ares Armor Inc.

To the valued customers and clients of Ares Armor, Inc. - best wishes and Happy Father’s Day!

I hope our fellow fathers are surrounded today by the love of their families. If you have a father, past or present, I hope you are honoring his role in your life. If you are a Dad - or have one - who is away from home, serving on military assignment, thank you again for your sacrifice.

I was fortunate to create many wonderful memories with my Dad on Father’s Day. Sadly, not enough. He passed away June 2013.

On this Father’s Day, I am blessed to have my family out from Chicago - here with me in San Diego. As a father, I am incredibly lucky and grateful to have such warm and loving children in my life.

When I look at my kids and my country with the love I have for both, I see the need to support and protect them. I also understand the need to honor and answer today’s painfully obvious Call to Arms. It is the same one waiting on the doorsteps, and in the faces and inboxes of all American fathers.

Look at just a few of the events this month in the U.S. They trigger proof why everyone would and should bear Arms:

  1. James Boulware, an angry man in an armored vehicle shoots up a Dallas police station.
  2. Munther Omar Saleh, a 20-year old ISIS sympathizer is arrested by the FBI after being caught scouting the George Washington Bridge and other New York City landmarks. Plus, he spent hours researching how to make bombs for terrorist attacks.
  3. A pair of Detroit women who legally carry firearms were each able to “pull the trigger” in successfully defending themselves. One during an overnight home invasion against multiple attackers, and the other, during an attempted carjacking in broad daylight.
  4. The appalling and horrific Clinton home invasion we featured on our blog. Thugs used stun guns on infants and children, attempted rapes, robbery, and more against a family with no firearms.
  5. In a hate crime, 21-year old Dylann Storm Roof, sits for an hour in a Charleston, SC church before pulling a gun and killing 9 African-Americans in bible study.

Intentionally, I listed this piece of gun news last. This awful story appears to be more about racial prejudice, not the weapon used to express it. However, Barack Obama wasted no time making this political. He WILL use this tragedy as fresh ammo for pushing his anti-gun agenda and assault on the Second Amendment, just as he did with Sandy Hook. The fatal shootings give the president all the ammunition he craves for his legacy and another attempt at a gun grab.

Firearms are NOT evil. People ARE evil.

People, whether inherently evil or afflicted with mental health issues - NOT FIREARMS - create atrocities. When mass shootings occasionally happen, the anti-gun gang screams bloody murder about the need to ban ALL firearms because of a few.

It continues to plague me why anti-constitutional radicals in our country, that clearly want to stomp on the principals set forth by our Founding Fathers – get away with their nonsensical arguments around the dangers of firearms. These radicals take a few, sad and horrific events and politicize them to get what they want. THE GUNS. They want the guns so that they can eventually strip every American of the Constitutional Rights that make our nation great. The ability to have a voice and speak out against tyranny. NO BULLY can push around an individual that can clearly defend themselves. Give them (the radical anti-gun establishment fueled by certain facets of our national government) the guns and they WILL take away our rights and the rights of generations to come.

Every time I hear the anti-gunner establishment call for gun grabs - I listen to their arguments… take the guns, control the guns and the “senseless violence will stop”. REALLY? So hand over the guns and we will be safe…? REALLY? It will be impossible for evil, and or mentally ill individuals to inflict mass devastation and destruction? REALLY? If the logic of these radicals actually had merit, one could argue that any device used by anther person to inflict mass devastation and destruction should be equally banned.

  • Why was there no call to ban airplanes after 9-11, or more recently after a German pilot chose to kill 150 innocent people by flying them into a mountain? There are numerous accounts of pilots and individuals murdering massive numbers of people with aircraft. When have any of these gun control radicals gone after planes? Never! Why? Because owning or exercising your right to fly a plane WON’T protect you from tyranny and protect our freedom.
  • Why is there no call to ban trains, trucks or cars – haven’t they been used to murder in the masses? Set aside the countless alcohol and drug related events involving a vehicle, need I remind all of the events that developed at the hands of Timothy McVeigh? When have any of the anti-gun radicals cried, screamed, pounded their fists on the table – demanding all forms of transportation that could be used to murder countless people be banned? Why? Because exercising our rights to use or own a train, truck or car WON’T protect you from tyranny and protect our freedom.
  • Why is there no call to ban lethal prescription drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes which are so much more accessible than guns? These drugs are known to have killed thousands and thousands? Where are the anti-gun “Fruit Loops” on this one? By the way, I have no doubt these social sins WILL be the next ones taken away once “they” have stripped “us” of our #2A rights. So, you gun-grabbers may want to think about that one before getting on the “high” horse…

The anti-gunner community wants you to believe that if Americans roll over and let Obama have his way, we will be safe and protected. BY WHO? The government? Seriously? The same government that has turned its back on our allies in the middle east and allowed the “rabid” spread of one of the worst global diseases of our generation… ISIS?

Personally, I choose to have the right to protect myself, my family, my friends and neighbors and not rely on the same government which threw away all the Blood and Treasure won by the brave servicemen and women who fought to protect the principals of our great nation.

And, it’s an honor to say, I have the distinct privilege to work with some of those same men and women here at Ares Armor Inc. today.

A Call to Arms By Our Founding Fathers

The 10-day Founding Fathers tribute by Ares Armor Inc. ended yesterday. It served to recharge my belief in the purpose and power of the U.S. Constitution. The most important document in our history speaks for itself.

The Obama dictating form of government is the exact reason why our Founding Fathers knew the Second Amendment and the rest of the Constitution were important. They made a very important decision to give Americans the right to bear Arms. They knew fundamentally they must avoid tyranny, protect our borders, and allow us to defend ourselves, our families, fellow Americans, and freedoms.

It makes me furious when this government tries to take away our #2A gun rights. President Obama wants our firearms gone so he can build his ideological control over all Americans and bestow it to future generations of his left leaning brethren. He has little time left, and rest assured, he will utilize every last breath of his presidency to push every piece of his liberal agenda down the throats of the U.S. Congress and the American people. Don’t forget, according to him, he has a pen and a phone if he doesn’t get his way… Dictator or President Obama?

Americans are about freedom, and rights to free speech and equality for all. No government should have the ability to force a society into a singular way of thinking. By law, we were given the freedom to arm ourselves. Like in 1776, those brave men picked up their muskets and said, “We will fight for our rights. We will fight for freedom.”

They set for us - the path we are still on today.

As a constitutionalist, I take this Call to Arms seriously. My children’s future, and generations to come will change for the worse if this president, and his crony gun control advocates, win the fight against our Second Amendment Rights. The benefits and beauty of what this nation was built upon by our Founding Fathers will be gone, forever.

A Call to Arms vs. Bullies

It’s a simple principle. Those who have ability to fight back are not bullied. Those people do not become the victims. A bully only attacks those weaker than he or she. Dylann Roof used a gun in a church. Adam Lanza used a gun in an elementary school. These are perfect soft targets for predators.

Calling 9-1-1 is not self-defense. It is not the instant solution you need.

Is it any wonder law-abiding citizens carry guns in church, in their cars, and sleep with them on nightstands by their beds? The lines of enemies foreign and domestic has been blurred. The enemy in America today has proven to be anywhere at any time.

The enemy is not the gun. The enemy is NOT having a gun to protect yourself and others.

An armed America is a safe and secure America.

Atrocities will happen less if criminals never know who around them is carrying guns, and is ready, willing, and able to use them. That extra level of respect levels the ground. Good, strong citizens with firearms are too much for cowards and bullies who might otherwise think they have nothing to lose.

So please, on this Father’s Day, choose to exercise the Constitutional Rights our Founding Fathers fought to give you. Whether you purchase from Ares Armor Inc. or somewhere else, make the commitment to bear Arms before it’s too late. Be empowered to defend yourself and others from enemies foreign and domestic.

If you allow a bully to control you on what he or she thinks is right, your freedom will be gone. The freedom of our children, and our children’s children will be gone, too.

Keeping a Promise with My Father

Before my dad passed away after developing Alzheimer’s Disease and Lung Cancer, came one of his most lucid moments. He was on oxygen struggling to breathe. He made me promise him I would find an opportunity where I could effectively change the lives and courses of people. I am trying to honor my dad’s request every day with Ares Armor Inc. I am trying to honor it with these words to you right now.

I did not invest in a company. I invested in its smart, passionate, and patriotic people, many who are veterans who have been through hell and back fighting for both this country and this company.

If I can help my team, and also help to convince you and other good Americans to responsibly bear Arms as is your Constitutional Right, then I can make my father proud up there.

My father lit my fire. If I can do something to change people’s lives in a positive way, I can leave this world a happy man no matter how many mistakes I have made or will make in my lifetime.

On this fathers day, we at Ares Armor Inc. wish you a wonderful day with your families. We would like to extend a heart felt thank you - for your time and your business.

Remembering our Founding Fathers on Flag Day

Today is Flag Day. We celebrate the sacred Stars and Stripes today. Dad’s big day is one week away. We hope you are enjoying our Countdown to Father’s Day 2015, and the tribute to our nation’s Founding Fathers.

If you have been following this series, you can’t help but come away with a certain powerful realization or confirmation. The exact government policies and practices America’s Founding Fathers were dead set on preventing, are the very scenarios we are now facing with the current White House administration. On Flag Day 2015, storm winds are blowing her in the wrong direction.

The Founding Fathers insisted on a system of checks and balances when they drafted and ratified the U.S. Constitution. The federal government’s decision making authorities would be distributed and shared between three branches. The states would maintain rights, too.

We The People mandated the people have powers and Constitutional Rights in a truly free country. After all, the Founding Fathers and thousands of other colonists fought bravely for their freedom. They vowed never to build a new nation for themselves, their families, and fellow Americans which would empower the government to take back the rights of the people.

The Founding Fathers carefully packed the U.S. Constitution with laws to serve the citizens as eternal safeguards. No power-wielding president or court could go rogue or turn dictator. The people could not be taken back into tyranny like with Great Britain.

Sadly and angrily as we know today, those Constitutional safeguards are now being stretched and stomped on with President Obama trying to circumvent Congress and the people to push his own anti-gun, anti-Second Amendment agenda. Gun control is part of his control.

“The Founding Fathers made a very important decision to include the right to bear Arms for all Americans,” said Bryce Stirlen, CEO of Ares Armor Inc. “They believed the American people should bear Arms to avoid tyranny, and to protect our borders, our families, friends, and neighbors. They knew fundamentally, nearly 250 years ago that a country armed has freedom, safety, and security. Those wise, courageous men looking into the future had the foresight to know the most simple principle – all of the people should have the power to defend their own home. And if you think of America as a home shared by all of us, then it is all of our responsibility to protect and defend it.”

#WakeUpAmerica.

The hashtag with this important warning is a rapidly rising one on Twitter, a modern technology for Freedom of Speech. People are resonating with the idea of waking America as they should on this Flag Day, and every day.

History can repeat itself…if the people allow it.

Under President Obama, the gun control debate is louder than ever. Americans on both sides of the issue are growing more passionate, and more divided. Many people think they are supporting the president in gun control. Little do they realize they are acting against the support of We The People.

You see, whether or not you like guns…whether you exercise your Constitutional Right to bear Arms to defend yourself, your home, and your country (or blindly hope someone else does it for you) here is a simple fact:

The Second Amendment protects and preserves the First Amendment. The right to bear Arms protects and preserves your right to free speech. Without 2A, the people can be easily silenced, bullied, and stripped of their freedoms.

Ares Armor Inc. CEO Bryce Stirlen was raised in a home where guns were allowed, but not ammunition. Bryce’s father as a very young man had a friend die in his arms, a casualty of a freak hunting accident. The incident haunted Bryce’s father who passed away two years ago. Still, he allowed his sons to collect antique guns and nurtured respect for them.

Bryce’s inspiration for firearms, the military, and our Founding Fathers came through his grandfather, Clement E. “Buck” Humphrey, who was a World War II hero. Bryce was physically disqualified from following his grandfather into military service, but today he proudly and passionately works with a veteran-driven team at Ares Armor Inc.

“When the government tries to take away our Second Amendment Rights, it makes me furious,” says Bryce. “I know how my grandfather would have felt if he were alive. I am reminded of this every day at work when I see it in the eyes of the veterans on our team who courageously fought for our country and freedoms. They are disillusioned and disgusted by this assault on the Constitution.

To allow some bully or some structure to control you on what they think is right, means your freedoms will be gone. There was much blood spilled in order for the U.S. Constitution to be written by our Founding Fathers. Everything in that document is only safe and secure if Americans have right to protect themselves and say ‘NO.’

On Flag Day 2015, look at how President Obama has become Dictator-in-Chief. Does any American believe that won’t become a trend, or transition into what our country will become if our rights are taken away?”

Food for thought in remembering our Founding Fathers on Flag Day.

Obama Proposing Gag Order vs. Online Gun Talk

Here’s a question. How often do they clean and fumigate the Oval Office? When it comes to the Second Amendment, President Obama continues to throw stuff against the wall with his anti-gun agenda. Years later, there’s plenty of stink, little that sticks. But hold your nose. Here we go again.

This one is so messy, the president may need a Hazmat crew.

This gag order tactic makes those of us at Ares Armor Inc. even more confident about folks in the Obama Administration burning the midnight oil. It sure seems they are literally staying up all night trying to find some way to finally pierce the body armor the Founding Fathers placed on the Second Amendment - #2A.

This time we are all up against the State Department, not the ATF.

They’ve locked on the internet as the target. They’re pulling the trigger on proposing regulations on how web forums, and gun blogs and gun videos like ours at Ares Armor Inc. use the internet with YOU. The intent is to holster all of us who share technical details online about topics such as arms and ammunition.

“The tactic for this Obama-led State Department mission is updating (changing) something called the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). These are the rules governing everything from firearms to fighter jets under the Arms Export Control Act (AECA).

The angle here for shooting down our freedom is that ITAR rules pre-date the internet. In the June 3, 2015 issue of the Federal Register they are insisting, “anything published online in a generally-accessible location has essentially been ‘exported,’ as it would be accessible to foreign nationals both in the U.S. and overseas.”

The U.S. Department of State is proposing now we must first get approval from the federal government before posting on the web. Otherwise, if we post details about an upper receiver, lower receiver, or AR-15 rifle kit, we’re looking at penalties up to 20 years in jail, and a fine up to $1 million.

“This proposed provision will enhance compliance with the ITAR by clarifying that ”technical data” may not be made available to the public without authorization. Persons who intend to discuss ”technical data” at a conference or trade show, or to publish it, must ensure that they obtain the appropriate authorization.”

Basically, the gag order is a double barrel assault weapon aiming at both the Second Amendment, and our First Amendment rights giving us Freedom of Speech.

Once again, President Obama is trying an end run around the U.S. Congress. We hope from a political sense the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate bear Arms against this latest attempted violation of our Constitutional Rights. But we can never count on it.

You know the drill. It’s the same one we used in stopping the recent Obama assault on M855 Ammo. Here’s what to do:

  1. Make your voice known with your elected Representative in the U.S. Congress, and the U.S. Senators from your state. Urge them to oppose the proposed gag order of online technical talk regarding guns and ammunition.
  2. You also have until August 3, 2015 to get your public comment on the record opposing the proposed gag order on Arms technical data. Ironically, you can submit your comment online by sending an email to: [email protected].

Use the subject line, ‘‘ITAR Amendment—Revisions to Definitions; Data Transmission and Storage.”

Thank you friends of #2A, the Second Amendment. Now we have to add #1A, the First Amendment to the fight.

Like we said, this gag order stuff being tossed against the wall is messy.

2015 Vietnam Veterans Day: A Personal Tribute

Today was more than just Sunday. March 29, 2015 was Vietnam Veterans Day. It was special for those who remembered and recognized the tribute. You could also say it was fitting many Americans didn’t know about the holiday today. After all, it took years for Vietnam Veterans to truly be welcomed home. It took many more years for them to be respected and regarded as heroes.

One of the guys on the team at Ares Armor was lucky enough to spend the 2015 Vietnam Veterans Day in Florence, Arizona. He rode shotgun with Joseph J. Mauro, Jr. The transplant from Northern New Jersey was a member of the United States Army. Mauro spent his 20th birthday fighting in the Vietnam War. Today, he spent time doing a couple of things he loves…shooting his guns, and showing respect to veterans.

The retired Mr. Mauro stands out riding along the highways and byways of Arizona. He is the proud owner of one of the coolest, most patriotic motorcycles you will find anywhere on three wheels.

He had a custom wrapping done on the body of the bike to celebrate America, and its military veterans. He wasn’t paid by anyone to provide the tribute. It’s something he did from his own heart and bank account.

Joseph J. Mauro, Jr. is a bit of an unlikely vocal supporter of U.S. Veterans. He didn’t dream of being a soldier. He didn’t enlist either. Mauro was called to serve at a time when the military draft was legal. He admits in those days, “I had a real chip on my shoulder, and had a problem with any kind of authority.” The U.S. Army straightened him out all right. And Joseph J. Mauro, Jr. knows he is a better man for it.

Today, the main authority figure Joey has a problem with is President Barack Obama. That’s stating it mildly. He doesn’t appreciate the president for his handling of veteran’s affairs. Secondly, he has harsh criticism for Obama’s attack on the Second Amendment.

Ares Armor would like to thank Joseph J. Mauro, Jr. for his time and company on Vietnam Veterans Day 2015, and ultimately for his service to our country. We now invite you to take a couple of minutes to enjoy our video with this unique Vietnam Veteran. If you feel so inclined, you can connect with Joey on Facebook.

B. Todd Jones: From ATF to NFL

We told ya. B. Todd Jones is leaving his post as ATF Director to work for the National Football League. According to a story in the New York Post today, Mr. Jones will be placed in charge of the NFL’s personal conduct policy. It’s definitely a pay upgrade for him, too. The report says Jones will receive a salary worth “several million a year.”

To put it into football terms, you could say Jones’ NFL (Not for Long) status with the ATF came directly on the spiked heels of the proposed M855 ammo ban which ran over him in true “Beast Mode.” Thousands and thousands of Second Amendment defending Americans stood up to the ATF. They came together. They showed themselves as tough to tackle on the issue as a nationwide army of Marshawn Lynch-like gunners who will fight for their Constitutional Rights.

Less than two weeks ago, Jones was forced to wipe green tip egg off his face. He publicly announced the ATF was going to temporarily shelve its proposed ban on M855 green tip ammunition.

The push back against the Obama Administration’s unconstitutional efforts to reclassify the ammo as “armor-piercing” was simply too much. A slew of complaints and vows to fight were fired in the direction of Jones and the ATF. They came from citizens. They came from members of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. They came from Republicans. They came from Democrats.

Just last Friday, B. Todd Jones resigned as head of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (BATPE) effective March 31, 2015. The 57-year old U.S. Marine and former Assistant U.S. Attorney was confirmed by the U.S. Senate in the summer of 2013. He was handpicked for the job by President Barack Obama back in 2011.

What’s interesting about the N.Y. Post piece is the quotes the article contained. They were attributed to an unidentified source with insider knowledge of the situation. The source claimed the ATF job was really wearing on Jones. The source stated, “He was getting cranky. I think he was over it.”

The unidentified source in the article also told the Post the NFL had been wanting to draft Jones for a while. The deal with him recently heated up quickly. Jones’ new position will include “determining the length of suspensions and handing out fines” for violations against NFL policy.

A piece of advice to B. Todd Jones. The ATF didn’t get as much public backlash as it should have from the unjustified and fruitless raiding of the Ares Armor business one year ago. Raiding the homes of NFL players, coaches, and executives? That probably won’t go so well for ya.

Senator David Vitter M855 Ammo Giveaway

Dinner at the White House? How does that sound? Perhaps enjoying a good meal and conversation with President Obama about the Second Amendment and gun rights? Believe it or not, YOU have a better chance of getting such an invite than the Republican Senior U.S. Senator from Louisiana does. No doubt, the David Vitter M855 Ammo Giveaway saw to that.

Here’s why.

Vitter Giveth What Obama to Taketh Away.

March 11, 2015. The seated U.S. Senator in his second term, now campaigning for Governor of Louisiana, announced the David Vitter M855 Ammo Giveaway. “Obama and his allies are working to restrict our access to guns and ammo, and it is up to us to fight for our rights as gun owners,” said Vitter. “As a show of support for the Second Amendment, I am raffling off a free box of M855 ammo.”

(For your chance to win the David Vitter M855 Ammo Giveaway, go to his official campaign site for Governor of Louisiana. Hurry, it is ending in a couple of days!)

While the Obama-led ATF was recently promoting its proposed ban of M855 5.56 NATO ammo, re-classifying it as “armor-piercing” ammunition, (which is untrue by definition), Mr. Vitter and his Press Secretary, Luke Bolar, cleverly fired back. It was a sign of true marksmanship.

“Senator Vitter had already written a strong letter to the ATF against the ban,” Bolar told Ares Armor. “We were making plans for a scheduled campaign appearance at the Great Southern Gun & Knife Show in Kenner, Louisiana last weekend. We got to talking about the impact on rising ammo prices. So, we decided to buy a box and raffle it off.”

Several hundred law-abiding citizens attending the show signed up in person for The David Vitter M855 Ammo Giveaway. Through his website and social media, the total of entrants now stands around 1,000.

Like you, Mr. Vitter knows winning the raffle isn’t what’s most important. He’s obviously focused on winning an election. The latest polls show he is leading a tight race. But whether or not he becomes the first U.S. Senator in more than 100 years to become Governor of Louisiana, David Vitter has shown he is committed to defending gun rights, and fighting the Obama Administration’s attempted gun grabs and assaults on ammo. His voting record includes:

U.S. Senator David Vitter Voting YES:

Allowing firearms in checked baggage on Amtrak trains.

Co-sponsored bill allowing firearms in National Parks.

Co-sponsored banning gun registration and trigger lock law in Washington D.C.

Applying concealed carry permit to all other states where legal.

U.S. Senator David Vitter Voting NO:

Lawsuits vs. gun manufacturers.

Suing gun makers and sellers for gun misuse.

Foreign & UN Aid that restricts US gun ownership.

Banning high-capacity magazines over 10 rounds.

(And just for grins, we’ll point out David Vitter was one of only 2 U.S. Senators to vote “Nay” on Hillary Clinton becoming U.S. Secretary of State).

As they say in the bayou, “Whodat?“

Whodat gonna fight to defend the 2nd Amendment and gun rights in Louisiana? Ares Armor knows one loud voice has been and will continue to be… Senator or Governor to be David Vitter.

Firearms and the Safety of Family

Build-a-Firearm Nib Bolt Carrier Group

March 15, 2015

Mr. Brian and Mrs. Valerie Wilson
Las Vegas, Nevada

Dear Valerie and Brian,

Thank you for coming forward publicly and sharing your story. It moved me. It also moved the people in our company. Thus, we also shared your story to all our loyal customers on the Ares Armor website.

Maybe it’s me. But I just don’t understand how a law-abiding, firearm-carrying couple with Constitutional Rights do not have the legal right to be foster parents or adopt a child. This doesn’t seem fair to you or a child who wants, needs, and deserves to be loved.

What I can understand is how the attempted invasion of your home changed your outlook on life. Yours happened when you lived in New York. My family’s was in a similar unconstitutional “gun-free zone” in Chicago, Illinois. You never forget it, do you?

For us, it was 2:30 a.m. My family was sleeping. I was home working at that hour. Two thugs smashed the window of my 2-year old daughter’s bedroom. Within seconds, I grabbed her and rushed her and my 6-month old son into their mother’s arms in our bedroom.

After quickly leading my family into a designated safe area in our home, I ran back to confront the two perpetrators. The only legal self-defense weapon I had was my martial arts training. Luckily in this case, applying my skills as a black belt was enough (if you catch my drift).

How is it, today’s America doesn’t fully value good human beings like yourselves, who believe in their Constitutional Rights to bear arms in order to protect themselves?

Valerie and Brian, I respect you for “sticking to your guns” so to speak. Thank you for fighting for positive change across America, and specifically in Nevada with trying to change the law with Assembly Bill 167.

You got through the attempted invasion of your home. I pray and believe you will get through this challenge. You deserve to keep your right to bear arms, AND get the right and the opportunity to welcome deserving children into your loving arms.

Please let me know if we, at Ares Armor, can be of assistance to you.

With gratitude and admiration,

Bryce Stirlen, CEO

Dr. John Lott Takes Aim at NY Times

Dr. John R. Lott, Jr. taking aim at the NY Times

Dr. John Lott, Jr. Takes Aim at N.Y. Times & Gun Control Advocates

Today, isn’t about the smoke beginning to clear. It’s about the sound of the expert shots fired yesterday which deserve to be heard as far as the ears in America can hear. Dr. John Lott, Jr. armed himself with the truth in taking aim at the New York Times, and other gun control advocates. That’s a good thing.

Add to it that, Dr. John Lott is a leading expert and author on guns, and heads up the Crime Prevention Research Center. That’s a better thing. Add to it that he’s dead on target with his opinions, and has the facts to support them…that’s even better. Here’s a closer look.

His latest piece just published as a columnist for FoxNews.com is titled, “Guns and the New York Times: Why shouldn’t Americans be able to defend themselves?” In his writing, Dr. Lott is quickly returning fire against a recent opinions post by the N.Y. Times Editorial Board. It was regarding the number of deaths attributed to individuals who have legal permits to carry concealed weapons. They called it, “Concealed Carry’s Body Count.”

Dr. John Lott, Jr. argued Americans who have gone to the trouble, and through the trials and tribulations of becoming legal concealed handgun permit holders are not criminals. He rightly defended them as true law-abiding citizens. He packed his position with solid proof showing permit holders are even more law-abiding than police.

A highlight of his powerful rebuttal to the N.Y. Times, Dr. Lott points out a study by Police Quarterly. It showed crimes committed by police officers were reported at a rate of 124 crimes per 100,000 officers. Whereas concealed handgun permit holders committed crimes at just one sixth of that rate, 20.5 per 100,000.

Ares Armor would like to publicly acknowledge and thank Dr. John Lott, Jr. for taking on the New York Times. We appreciate his latest well-researched article in support of the 2nd Amendment, gun rights, and specifically permit holders across the United States of America.
